About the FDP:
Faculty members from ATMECE, Mysuru have attended a four day online National workshop on the same topic organized by AICTE during 29th April to 02nd May 2020. During the workshop AICTE Chairman has requested all participants to disseminate the information about the Exam reforms among other staff members of their respective college and the other Engineering Colleges around. ATMECE being one of the NBA accredited colleges in Mysuru and being in the forefront of reforms in Engineering education has taken up the task and Department of Mechanical Engineering, ATMECE is organizing this FDP. This FDP will be dealt in six sessions (two sessions per day).
Globalization of the world economy and higher education are driving profound changes in the Engineering education system. Worldwide adaptation of Outcome-Based Education framework and enhanced focus on higher-order learning and professional skills necessitates paradigm shift in traditional practices of curriculum design, education delivery and assessment. In recent years, worldwide sweeping reforms are being undertaken to bring about essential changes in engineering education in terms of what to teach and how to teach and how to assess. Examinations/student assessments play a very important role in deciding the quality of education. The academic quality of examinations (question papers) in Indian engineering education system has been a matter of concern for a long time.
The contents of this FDP are completely derived from the recommendations made in the AICTE Exam Reforms November 2018. This FDP attempts to bring out recommendations for reforms in the examination system to meet challenges of the emerging engineering education landscape.
