  • Webinar Series under IEEE

The ATME IEEE Student Branch had organised “Webinar series on 21st and 23rd October 2020.” in online platform –  MS Teams. The event was organized with objectives to explore recent trends and advantage of using electric vehicle in India Context and to promote ecological sustainable growth while addressing India’s energy Security Challenges. Students from all the branches participated in the event.Mr Ravikiran Annaswamy , CEO of Innohabit Technologies gave insights on the “ Role of Electric Vehicle in 21st century and relevance to India” on 21st October, 6PM.

  • National Cancer Awareness Day

The objective of the webinar was to generate awareness about early detection and avoid Cancer causing lifestyles. National Cancer Awareness Day is observed on 7th November on the birth anniversary of eminent scientist Madame Curie. Marie Curie is remembered for the discovery of radium and polonium and gets huge contribution to the fight against cancer. Her work led to the development of nuclear energy and radiotherapy for the treatment of cancer.

  1. “Virtual Technical Fest: Avagamah” Hackathon and Innovative Idea Submission Challenge

The Department of Electrical & Electronics, ATMECE, Mysuru had organised a “State Level Virtual Technical Fest-AVAGAMAH” on 4th and 7th December, 2020 through online platform.

To encourage students to apply technical and logical thinking skills through Experiential and participatory Learning, a Virtual Hackathon event was conducted on 4th December, 2020 as part of the fest.

Mr. Nouman Ahmed of VVCE, Mysuru bagged 1st Place, Mr. Varun A of ATMECE, Mysuru bagged 2nd Place, Mr. Joshua H Rayapuri of ATMECE and Mr. Sumanth Rao C S of JSS Academy of Technical Education, Bengaluru received consolation Prize in the event Hackathon.

To enhance the creative, societal, logical and technical thinking ability in students, Make in Bharat: Innovative Idea Submission Challenge (IIC) was organised on 7th December, 2020. Proposals were submitted by the teams which was initially screened and the best 8 Teams were invited for presentation.

The proposal titled “Adjustable Spoon for Parkinson’s Disorder” presented by Mr. Joshua H Rayapuri and Ms. Dhanyatha M, Dept. of EEE, ATMECE bagged 1st Place and the proposal titled “Assistive Tool Kit for Alzheimer’s Patient” presented by Mr. Yaseen Ulla Khan and Mr. Mohammed Suhail, Dept. of EEE, ATMECE bagged 2nd Place. Both teams were mentored by Mr.Shreeshayana R, Assistant Professor.

“Voting Management”, presented by Ms. Pavithra K, Dept. of CSE, ATMECE mentored by Mr. Kiran B, Assistant Professor, “Automatic Door Knob Sanitization” presented by Ms. Arpitha R and Ms. Priyanka P D, Dept. of EEE, ATMECE mentored by Mr. Vinod Kumar P, Assistant Professor and “IoT based Hydroponics Cultivation” presented by Mr. Hemanth B S and Mr. Manjunath K B, Dept. of EEE, mentored by Mr. Shreeshayana R, Assistant Professor were awarded consolation prize.

  • Workshop on App development

The objective of the workshop is to give students hands-on experience in developing Android applications. The online workshop is intended for students who are interested in computational thinking with App Inventor, and for anyone who would like to learn basic programming skills. It provides many interesting hands-on examples, including simple games and practical tools, to make programming fun and easy even for beginners without any prior programming experience.

  • Workshop on Tool usage -LabView

The department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru had organized a Three day Workshop  on “LabView” for the 2nd year of Electrical and Electronics Engineering on 21st December 2020 to 23rd December 2020 through Online Platform. The event was organized to make the students to learn the modern tool usage and to simulate the Electrical & Electronics Circuits by using the modern tool LabView.

  • Online Quiz Competition on “World Science Day for Peace and Development”

The Department of Electrical & Electronics, ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru had organised “E-Quiz Competition on World Science Day for Peace and Development” on 31st Dec 2020 through online platform.

The event was organised with objectives to bring Awareness about the role of science in societal developments. The target participants were Engineering students of all the discipline. More than 150 students across various colleges have took part in the event. All the participants are provided with participation e-certificates and the Highest scorers are provided with Merit certificate.

  • Technical Talk – on IoT in today’s World

The department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru had organized a Webinar on “IoT in today’s World” for the 2nd and 3rd year of Electrical and Electronics Engineering on 30th May 2021 through Online Platform. The event was organized to give an exposure to the students about the new technologies that are developing and to encourage the students to think and work in that direction by taking up the mini projects and major projects based on IoT’s.

  • Entrepreneur Talk

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering in association with Training and Placement Department organised a Webinar on “Entrepreneurship Skills in Youngsters” in ATMECE, for Pre-Final Year and Final Year Students of Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering on 5th June 2021,  with the objective of the webinar to develop and strengthen the entrepreneurial quality in students.

  • Technical Talk: Introduction to Machine Learning and Deep Learning”

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, ATME College of Engineering had organized one-day webinar on “Introduction to Machine Learning and Deep Learning” for the 3rd year Electrical and Electronics Engineering students on 19th June 2021 through MS Teams Online Platform. The event was organized to provide an exposure and to motivate the students towards the cutting-edge technologies in today’s world with deep roots in other fields such as Electrical & Electronics Engineering, etc.

  1. State Level Quiz Competition

The Department of Electrical & Electronics, ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru had organised “State Level Technical Quiz Competition on Electrical & Electronics Engineering” on  30th June 2021 through online platform. The target participants were students from Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

The event was organised with objectives to enhance the technical skills of students in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and to improve the analytical, logical and problem-solving skills in students. The quiz competition covered questions from Engineering courses on Basic Electrical Engineering, Transformers and Generators, Electric Motors, Digital System Design, Electrical and Electronics Measurements. About 180 students from different regions of Karnataka registered and participated in the event

  • Workshop on C programming & puzzles

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering had organized a Webinar on “C Programming & Puzzles” in ATMECE, for Final Year Students of Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering on 26th June 2021, with the objective of the webinar to enhance the programming skills in students.

  • National Level Project Competition 

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering had organized a National Level Project Competition on 20th July 2021 with the objectives to introduce the students to real-world engineering situations and encourage to develop solutions addressing environment, economic sustainability and societal cause and to create opportunity to the students to exhibit their technical, communicational skills, Research orientation and Project management.

TECHNICAL TALK ON “SMART GRID INITIATIVES IN INDIA”

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ATMECE, Mysuru had organised a Technical Talk on “Smart Grid Initiatives in India” on 4th September 2019. Er. HumeeraHaneef, Assistant Executive Engineer, CESC, Mysuru and Er. Manju K, Assistant Engineer, CESC, Mysuruwas the Resource person.

Guest of honour, Dr.LBasavaraj, Principal, ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru said that the intention of these kinds of program is to achieve practical exposure and to make the student industry ready. He appeal the students to make use of the opportunity give to them. Dr.Parthasarathy L, Head, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering presided and said it is our job to upgrade our knowledge. Technology is changing and when it comes to smart grid it changes the way we look into the power system and he advised the participants to utilise the knowledge gained effectively.

Er. HumeraHaneef, Assistant Executive Engineer, CESC, Mysuru explains the Journey of Smart Grid in CESC Mysore and its implementation in Mysuru city. She emphasize on customers participation in smart grid and its advantage over convention method.

Er. Manju K, AssistantEngineer, CESC, Mysuru explains about fault clearing techniques and how to reduce peak demand without load shedding in smart grid.

Industrial Visit To Hootagalli Substation, Mysuru

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering had organised Industrial visit to 220kV/66 kV /11kV SRS Hootagalli substation, Mysuru for IV semester students on 29th February 2020 in order to provide a practical exposure of substation.

A substation is a part of an electrical generation, transmission, and distribution system. Sub-station serve as sources of energy supply for the local areas of distribution in which these are located. Their main functions are to receive energy transmitted at high voltage from the generating station reduce the voltage to a value appropriate for local distribution and provide facility for switching.

Engineers at the substation explained to students the layout of substation, one line diagram, scada and various programming done in the control room and all the essential component of the 220kV/66 kV /11kV substation such as incoming feeders, Bus bars, Lightening Arresters, line isolators, wave trap, circuit breakers, Power transformers, Current Transformers, Potential Transformers, Protective relays, capacitor banks, capacitor voltage transformer, different kinds of insulators etc.

STATE LEVEL TECHNICAL PROJECT EXHIBITION ORGANISED AT ATME

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru, had organized a “State Level Technical Project Exhibition” under department association Quantum recently

Total of 43 Projects in the final year category and 22 projects under Hobby Project category participated in the event.

Two project batches, Automated Waste segregator with Composter by Harshitha BM, Abhijith M, Rohith PN and Sneha Lincy Sequera of ATMECE, Mysuru and Automated flood gates using PLC by Tippeswamy J, Kumar M K, Thushar M S and Devaraj of VVIET, Mysuru won the 1st place.

Two project batches, Rapid prototyping using additive manufacturing by Manoj Gowda K, Sajid Ahmed ES, Divya KR, Shambhavi KN of VVCE, Mysuru and Waste Management by Navvena G S, Hemanth N C, Abhilash H M of GMIT, Mandya won the 2nd place.

Two project batches, PLC controlled water bottle filling system by Thunga MN, Dashwitha S, Devika Rani K and Vishal P of ATMECE, Mysuru and Monitoring of garbage and collection system using IOT by vishwas A, Sachin M, Shilpa A N and Shivakumara C R of VVCE, Mysuru won the 3rd place.

The event was judged by Dr.S S Parthasarathy, Professor, Dept. of EEE, PESCE, Mandya, Dr. S R Bhagyashree, Professor, Dept. of ECE, ATMECE, Mysuru, Mr.Gopala Reddy, Associate Professor, Dept. of EEE, VVCE Mysuru, Dr.Mohan N, Associate Professor, Dept. of EEE, NIEIT, Mysuru and Mr.Gagan Ganesh V, Production Manager, Kidvento, Mysuru.

Dr.Parthasarathy L, Professor and Head, Dept. of EEE, Faculty and students were present during the event. Cash prize and certificates distributed to the prize winners and participants.
