Infrastructure/Facilities
Department of Chemistry was established in the year 2010 with very good infrastructure of working area of 275 sq.m comprising spacious laboratory, HOD’s chamber, staff room, store room, internet and desktop facilities. The department has all instruments, glassware’s, chemicals and reagents required for conducting experiments as per the university curriculum. The lab is connected with UPS and water supply for the smooth conduction of practical. The department has given more emphasis on safety measures with fire extinguisher, safety measure display boards and first aid kit.

The library is equipped with more than 100 text & reference books for students & staffs.

Facilities Provided:
The department is well equipped with instruments required to carry out Engineering chemistry lab as well as research in core chemistry. The department is recognized as research centre with two research guides, from VTU. The R&D centre is focused on the core areas of Chemistry related to Engineering sciences and to contribute overall development of the society.

R & D Activities
The faculty members of the Department are well qualified and have expertise in frontier areas of research such as Organic synthesis, catalysis, composite materials, fuel cells, solar energy, pharmaceutical chemistry, analytical chemistry and nanomaterial’s. They have contributed towards publication of a good number of research papers in national and international Journals and Conferences. The faculties with doctoral degree in the department are supervising as VTU research guide for other students for their Ph.D Degree.
